D1RC series final round.
My body of choice for this final round was yet again my very old favorite the Kyosho KPGC10.

Well after a cloudy start to the day we all arrived around 9am with the final round in hand for the club class and pro class of the D1RC series, First of everyone got together and prepped the track with some sweeping and barrier setup to get the course right after much discussion of what track design we were going to run.
After getting set up and some car tweaking here and there we all set to the track for some practice and boy was the track extremly slippery today, for some reason this track (Colchester MCC) has a way of changing the way it feels, maybe this was due to the colder weather now later in the year or due to what vehicles have been run on the surface over the past couple of months.
So we all got some practice and then went fine tuning for more driveability and then drivers briefing for some last minute discussion on the track layout and clipping points with how the track shapes out for the final round.
Now it was time for the best body of the day and chassis so we all got lined up on the track and votes cast as to whom had the best shell and low and behold steve davies took it again with his widebodied tamiya subaru impreza.
With qualifying of to a good start with the club class saw some great results from these guy's of up and coming talent. next saw the turn of the pro class with eddie turner taking the top score and john turner second with myself third, the club class took to the track for the tandems and wow some great runs from these guy's with close battles and re runs but coming down to the wire the finals came and the results were Ben Kemp taking first place in the final with luke conte taking second and michael fryett taking third.

So next up we go to the pro class for the tandem battles and some interesting battles were had, with myself up with ritchie hood and going through to the semi's, then i was up against john turner and yet again myself going through to the final. This then took the turn of who was to decide to take third place and was taken by john turner leaving stu cave and myself to battle it out for first place, after the first 2 runs it was decided to run again with myself taking first place in the final yippeee!

More to come from the D1RC crew in the winter series.........
